A blending of the prayer-bead tradition of the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches, the Anglican Rosary (sometimes also known as Anglican Prayer Beads) was developed by the Rev. Lynn Bauman in the 1980s, the result of a contemplative prayer group.
The use of prayer beads has been a part of Christian spirituality from the earliest days of The Church.
At The Chapel of Saint Andrew, we use the Anglican Rosary during the Wednesdays of Lent. The service is built around the liturgy for Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer.
